According to TechCrunch, a Snoop Dogg cannabis fund will invest in cannabis startups.  The round has not been completed and there are few details, beyond the fact that he wants to raise funds, about how much has been raised.

Before we go on, let’s state the obvious.  What better Company for the original OG to invest in than Dankster?  Is Snoop Dogg a true Dankster?  We’ll find out soon…..

In particular, the snoop dogg cannabis fund would be a perfect catalyst for our upcoming video platform Dankster TV, where we’ll produce the best cannabis programming around.

Back to the news – Snoop is looking to raise about $25M in conjunction with his agency for the snoop dogg cannabis fund.  It’s unclear which agency is representing him on this venture, but we believe it is likely WME, which has significant expertise in bridging the gap between the digital and entertainment industries.

We think this is a great idea and a natural fit.  There will undoubtedly be a ton of cannabis companies looking to license the Snoop Dogg brand and align themselves with him in some form.  Snoop will surely get attractive licensing deals in the industry, but why not double down with an equity investment or even seed your own Company?

There is no word on what kind of cannabis companies Snoop the snoop dogg cannabis fund is looking to invest in.  The obvious ones, to us, are cannabis brands that he can license his name to (Snoop Kush for example).  Web companies that focus on the cannabis industry could also scal bigger and quicker than cannabis production companies.  We’ll have to stay tuned to that.

Hey Snoop, invest in Dankster.  We would make great partners. It’s a no brainer bro!!
